Fashion Management students participated in a Project Runway challenge where they were given 5 minutes to turn fabric scraps into runway-ready looks! The students’ creativity was ignited, and they were asked to pitch their designs and explain their styling process.

This was followed by a lecture by Kristina Duffy Hochman, Director of the NSLC and Fashion program advisor. Ms. Duffy Hochman has extensive experience in the fashion industry, and has worked in Global Product Marketing for companies such as Coty and Estee Lauder. At the heart of her lecture was an activity where students were given several fragrance samples and asked to decipher the target audience; their age range, gender, and the fragrance’s price point.

Students were then tasked with coming up with their own fragrance promotions. They chose the brand, scent, celebrity endorser, bottle design and price point, and presented their proposals to their peers.
